Feeling Low

shhh bowie.jpg

Monday morning head fog,

Dead dog telling me to stay down

“Lay down your dreams, boy,

‘Cause nothing good is in your stars.”

Reach out and turn the TV on

Something’s wrong,

The news is playing ‘Life on Mars’?

*

The Dog Star has set at last,

Faded fast:

Hero passed.

About captainlimey

Captain Limey is the alter ego of a mild mannered idiot. He can also be found on Twitter, either as @CaptainLimey or in his new guise as a purveyor of Gangland Mummy Porn in @50ShadesOfKray. Despite a magnificent costume, specially created for him by his mother, he has no super powers, unless you count the ability of his skin to eat through metal, given enough time. This has led to the buggeration of several watches of his acquaintance but has not thus far proved harmful to other lifeforms. The Captain hopes you will enjoy his blogged musings and forgive the occasional rant against the world at large, and idiot dictators in particular. They really get his gander up.

  1. I stayed home sick yesterday and played a lot of Bowie. The world suffered a great loss when he left. So I know how you feel. This is a great tribute.

Thank you! Sometimes the news can be a real kick in the guts. The death of Robin Williams springs instantly to mind. Oddly, I had not quite realised how much Bowie meant to me until he suddenly wasn’t here any more.

      • Same here. I’ve been watching/listening to anything I can get my hands on. His 1979 performance on Saturday Night Live is a highlight. His ability to work until the end of his life is inspiring.
